Established in 2010 by a Joint Declaration between the City of Los Angeles and the Indian Film Industry, the LA India Film Council was formed to facilitate and strengthen motion picture production, distribution, technology, content protection, and commercial cooperation between the two communities.
- Facilitating Indian production and investment in California, and similarly, Hollywood production and investment in India, as well as helping to overcome production and distribution challenges faced by each community in the other's market.
- Supporting the technological development of the Hollywood and Indian film industries through commercial collaboration and knowledge exchange.
- Assisting with cross-industry talent acquisition and creative collaboration.
- Collaborating on best practices regarding content protection and legislative advocacy to develop a thriving film market in each community.
