One more unique opportunity has presented itself in front of those who want to make it big in the industry in the form of the LA-India Connect. The LA-India Connect is a contest which has been organised to promote talent and provide a global platform for students of both the countries. Organised by the LA-India Film Council, this online short film competition has a simple procedure of signing up (for free) and uploading your short film. The film should be of a maximum duration of ten minutes. The theme of the competition is Hollywood-Bollywood and the competition is open to students in India and Los Angeles.
The entries will be judged by several top filmmakers of India, including Shekhar Kapur, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Mahesh Bhatt and Nagesh Kukunoor apart from directors of reputed film schools from other countries as well.
If you are chosen as the winner, you will be entitled to a prize money of $1000. Apart from this, the winner will get to work with a leading production company. He or she will also get a chance to generate revenue out of the film with help from Pocket Films, which is a distributor of alternate media content. Viewers can vote for their favourite film online, and the film with the most votes will be given the Most Popular Film Award. Open only to film and media students. Last date for entries is August 14.
